NTPC Farakka organized a walkathon today to raise awareness about Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment). The awareness walkathon was organised by the EMG Dept, NTPC Farakka.

The event was graced by the presence of notable figures like Shri Ramakanta Panda, HOP Farakka, who served as the Chief Guest. Other attendees included Smt. Niva Panda, President (Udita Ladies Club); Shri Bijay Manjul, GM (O&M); Shri Satheesh S, GM (BE & EMG), Shri NK Sharma GM (Operations); Shri Vivek Jha, GM (EMD and C&I); Shri Alok Kumar Ranbir, AGM(HR). Senior members of the Udita Ladies Club and representatives of various Unions and Associations were also present.

In Nov 2021, Mission LiFE was launched by PM Modi at COP26 in Glasgow, with an aim to propagate a healthy and sustainable lifestyle that mitigates climate change.

Piloted by Niti Aayog and implemented by the Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Mission LiFE encourages citizens to adopt practices that contribute to the conservation of the environment. This program embodies seven themes: save energy, save water, say no single-use plastics, adopt sustainable food systems, reduce waste, adopt healthy lifestyles, and reduce e-waste.

NTPC Farakka hopes that events like these will inspire more people to engage in Mission LiFE, making a tangible difference in our fight against climate change.
